Computer Experience

I automated an electro-optics laboratory. I wrote the "Octopus" program. The Octopus can run any of up to 18 different laboratory instruments simultaneously. Other team members use this program to examine MEMS devices. I responded quickly to any bugs that surfaced, and I returned fixes and explanations with in 3 hours. I encouraged feedback to further clarify Graphical User Interfaces. A computer screen front panel GUI controls the "Octopus". While the program is running, the user may choose instruments to configure and sweep. Individual GUIs, panels and set for each possible instrument and sweep steps are built along a front screen graph. Gathered data may be sorted, graphed and saved. The Octopus controls, sweeps, reads, records and graphs multiple instruments. Each instrument is an object and new instruments may be added. I have carefully commented the program and written documentation on how to run the program and how new instruments may be added with starter templates. I have instructed others in LabView code and the Octopus. The program is has general applications for any lab environment.

My role has been primary programmer. I determine what variables and inter-phases are necessary to complete a project. I strive to build intuitive GUIs that anyone can quickly understand and manipulate. Behind that GUI, I write the code using format, commits and appropriately named variables to bring clarity to the code for later expansions, alterations and reuse in different projects. I have built power point flow charts to illustrate how a program functions. As primary programmer, I have presented possible expansions to a given project to increases its utility.

I have converted MatLab code into C for a sonar simulation program. This code returned properties to a user council program.

I am built a site to sell 7000+ vinyl records. This site sorts and searches the record database providing a single inter-phase page to shop from. This site includes secure pages for credit card payments. voltic.com/Vinyl_Vahalla .

Work Experience:

My career history starts in obtaining an MS in Physics where I analyzed the behavior of liquid crystals in a light valve. During that time, I also automated a laser system to project 3-dimensional images inside an Erbium doped crystal for SPAWAR(Space and Naval Warfare Systems) in San Diego.

After Graduation, I worked for 3 more years at SPAWAR 2000 to 2003. During that time I completed 5 projects. I wrote programs to analyze the resolution of infra-red cameras in MatLab. I produced computer modeling for a fiber optic filter system that could break drown and reconstruct a 10 Ghz signal. I converted a MatLab simulation of sonar into an object oriented c sub-routine. I designed the optical system to study the lasing of cryogenic erbium and automated it. I built an expandable GUI program for generalized automation of laboratory equipment.

Since working at SPAWAR, I have opened an internet business: voltic.com . I have posted Vinyl_Vahalla, a searchable data base 6000 vinyl records for sale with the ability to take credit cards.
